Please don’t leave me
It was a dark and stormy night at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The sounds of the thunder were crackling against the Gryffindor tower windows.
Hermione, Ron, Harry and Ginny were sitting next to the fire, talking whether they should agree to go and visit Hagrid. Hermione said "no" because she wanted to get on with her homework. Ginny also said "no," but not for the same reasons as Hermione. Harry and Ron nodded and scuttled out of the portrait hole.
Hermione grabbed her charms books and began writing on a piece of parchment. Meanwhile Ginny was reading Quidditch through the Ages. Every now and again Ginny would steal glances of Hermione.
Hermione knew that Ginny was stealing glances of her; she just smiled at this. No one knew that they had chemistry between them, well, except for Luna. Not even they knew that they had some sort of chemistry.
After what seemed like two hours, Hermione threw her quill back on the table and sat back in her chair.
“Finally! That’s the last piece of homework done for the week!”
Ginny looked up from her book, and looked at Hermione with a face that said "what, already?"
Hermione understood the face at once and nodded. The two girls then burst out laughing for what seemed like and eternity, until Ginny shouted:
“Oh my goodness! I’ve got stitches!”
Hermione quickly stopped laughing and went over to Ginny with a worried look on her face.
“Are you ok? Does it hurt?” Hermione questioned.
Ginny nodded. She was now in full on pain.
“Where does it hurt?” Hermione asked.
Ginny pointed to where her stitch was.
The stitch was at least ten inches away from Ginny’s breast. Hermione took a deep breath, and told Ginny that this was one of the Muggle remedies for a stitch.
Hermione carefully placed her hand below Ginny’s breast, where the stitch was, and began massaging the spot. Ginny couldn’t help but stare at Hermione. Even though she was with Harry, deep inside her she had a love for Hermione. Her lush curly wavy hair, her skin smooth as silk, and the best, Ginny thought, was Hermione’s dark oak brown eyes.
Hermione stopped for a moment and looked up at Ginny’s beautiful, innocent and caring face. Hermione loved how Ginny’s eyes were sea blue, her hair an autumn shade of red and orange.
They both just stayed like that for a while, just staring at each other, secretly admiring each other's beauty. Hermione then found the courage to ask Ginny a question.
“Do you like me?”
Hermione breathed. Ginny looked deep into Hermione’s eyes. She was looking for something. She was seeing what Hermione asked was real.
“Yes,” Ginny said quietly.
“No, I mean do you really like me?” Hermione asked slowly.
“Yes,” repeated Ginny, slowlier than she intended to.
Hermione put her head closer to Ginny’s. Ginny slowly placed her hand on Hermione’s cheek. Both of the girl’s hearts were pounding in their throats, excitement running up and down their spine.
Ginny moved her head closer, until her forehead touched Hermione’s. Hermione bit her bottom lip and moved her head closer, until her lips were hovering above Ginny’s.
“Kiss me,” whispered Hermione, and Ginny did just that.
She placed her lips onto Hermione’s soft lips. The kiss was slow and deep. All of the emotions that the two girls had for each other were being released in that very kiss. These were the emotions the two girls never knew they had for each other.
After a while, they slowly parted.
Hermione opened her eyes to see the red head staring at her, her eyes glistening. Ginny leaned her head on Hermione’s shoulder. Hermione wrapped her arms around Ginny, bringing her closer to her. Even though they were sitting by the fire, Ginny was cold. But soon warmed up when she snuggled into Hermione.
Tonight was definitely the best night the two girls have had so far. Nothing could ruin that moment; that’s what Ginny thought anyway. Hermione, on the other hand, had a journey to prepare for: a journey to find the Horcruxes and destroy them, in order to defeat Lord Voldemort once and for all. But Hermione couldn’t think about that right now. How could she? She was snuggling into the most perfect Weasley there was.
I’ll be happier once you’re gone
“Just leave me alone, Ron!”
“No, Ron, I just said leave me alone!” Hermione shouted as she and Ron came through the portrait hole after breakfast.
“But Hermione, just let me explain-”
“What is there to explain, Ron? I saw you kissing Lavender while she was trying to push you off!” Hermione screamed as she turned around to face Ron. It was a damn good thing that no one else was in the common room.
“So you’re just gonna believe what you saw and not your own boyfriend?!”
“Exactly, Ron. I believe in facts, not stupid little lies like yours. And who said that you and I are together? We're over, Ron,” said Hermione stiffly.
As she began to walk away Ron grabbed her by the arm.
“No. We’re not over, Hermione,” Ron growled.
“Ron, I don’t have time for your childish games. Now leave me alone,” Hermione said strongly.
“Wrong answer, Hermione: we are still together no matter what you say, ok? And from now on, you will give me pleasure whenever I want it. Got it?” Ron growled as he began pushing Hermione to the ground.
“Ron, what are you-”
But before Hermione could finish her sentence, she heard someone shout:
And before she knew it, she saw Ron lying on the other side of the common room, knocked out by the look of it. Hermione looked around to see who had cast the spell, and to her surprise, it was Ginny.
After a few seconds, Ginny lowered her wand and went over to Hermione. Ginny wrapped her arms around the older girl and began asking her tons of questions. Hermione repeated the last ten minutes to Ginny, and then bursted in to tears.
“I can’t believe he would do something like that, Gin!” Hermione sobbed into Ginny’s shoulder.
“Oh, don’t worry about him anymore, love” Ginny assured her. “I’ll send an owl to mum about what he did, and I guarantee that she’ll go mental on him. But then again, she might go mental on me too, since I knocked him out,” said Ginny as she frowned.
Hermione chuckled. It was quite amusing to see all the Weasley children getting yelled at by their mother, especially Fred and George.
After what seemed like 20 minutes, the two girls got up from the floor. Ginny wrapped her arms around the brunette once more and whispered into Hermione’s ear:
“Don’t worry about him. If he bothers you any more just tell me, ok? I’ll take care of him ‘cause I love you.”
Hermione smiled at those last words. At that, Ginny kissed Hermione passionately on the lips before grabbing her bag and running off to the Astronomy Tower.
Hermione however stood there stunned for a few more minutes. She quickly gathered her thoughts and went to grab her bag.
She ran like the wind to get to Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, because Professor Snape was now the new teacher. As she entered the class, Snape’s attention was quickly brought to Hermione.
“You’re late, Miss Granger. I see you had Professor McGonagall to tell me a pityful excuse. I’m only going to warn you once now, Miss Granger: if you are ever late to one of my lessons again, I will have no choice but to give you detention for a whole 3 months. Do I make my self clear?” Professor Snape said greasily.
Hermione nodded, and then took her seat next to Harry at the back of the class.
“What happened?” Harry asked quietly.
Hermione then explained everything to Harry.
“That little skrewt! And to think me and him were best mates,” Harry said, with anger building up inside him.
“Don’t worry about that, Harry. I hope he will learn his lesson in some way,” said Hermione dully.
Throughout all the lesson, Harry was glaring at Ron, making him feel uncomfortable.
Later that night, Hermione and Harry were up on the Astronomy Tower, discussing about what Dumbledore had said to Harry.
“Things are going to change, aren't they?” Hermione asked shakily.
“Yes,” Harry said, patting Hermione on the back. “We’ll be all right though. We always do”.
Please don’t leave me
Hermione was woken by Harry's whispers:
“Get up, Hermione! Get up, it’s time”.
Hermione quickly gathered her thoughts and realised what Harry meant.
“Right, ok. Let me get dressed then,” Hermione whispered back.
“Ok. I’ll wait for you outside your dormitory.”
Soon she was dressed and had her bag with her.
“Right. Ready?” Harry asked quietly.
"Right, let’s go”.
They both walked down the stairs as quietly as they could. But as soon as they entered the common room, Ginny was standing there, with crossed arms.
“And where do you think you two are going?” Ginny asked simply.
“Babe, I don’t want you to worry, so I’m not going to tell you. I’m sorry, but me and Hermione have really got to go,” Harry said quickly.
“You aren’t going to go anywhere without at least giving me a goodbye kiss,” Ginny said, going closer to Harry.
They kissed to what seemed like forever.
Hermione watched it in disgust. How could Ginny say she loved her, and then go off and kiss Harry?
Finally the two love birds parted.
“I’ll see you soon, Gin. I’ll wait outside for you, Hermione”.
As soon as Harry was out of the room and the portrait door was shut, Hermione burst into anger.
“What in the name of Merlin’s beard was that?!” Hermione shouted.
“What?” Ginny asked confused.
“Like you don’t know. First you say you love me, then you go off and snog Harry!”
“Well, he is my boyfriend. Besides I’m gonna break up with him soon.”
“Oh, right. When? When I’m dead?!”
“What on Muggle’s do you mean by that, Hermione?”
“Pfft. I’m going with Harry to find Voldemort’s Horcruxes and destroy them, so there’s a big chance that I’ll be dead soon because Voldemort hates Muggle-borns!”
“Hermione, please. I hate the idea of you dead!”
“Well, that didn’t bother you when you had your tounge down Harry’s throat.”
“Just decide, Ginny: me or Harry!”
“Hermione, it’s not that easy.”
“Fine then. I’ll do it for you: I’ll leave you.”
“No, Hermione... Please don’t leave me,” Ginny said quietly while a tear began running down her face.
And at that, Hermione walked away, leaving Ginny in tears.
I will keep you safe
A whole year went by, and Ginny hadn’t heard anything from Hermione or Harry. The dark forces were becoming stronger and stronger in the wizarding world and in the Muggle one. Many were killed or tortured.
It was at dusk a year later when Harry and Hermione made their first appearance back in the grounds of Hogwarts. Harry made his way through the Forbidden Forest to face Voldemort, while Hermione went to face the bloody battlefield of Hogwarts.
All around Hermione there were shouts of spells of all the colours flying out of different wands, screams of pain, and the grass was full to the brim with blood.
Hermione looked around. Many people were fighting in groups against one or two Death Eaters or Snatchers. She soon caught sight of Ginny.
Ginny was fighting with Professor McGonagall against Bellatrix Lestrange.
Hermione took her wand out of her pocket, and slowly said the forbidden words Avadra Kedavra.
Green jets flew out of Hermione’s wand, and straight into Bellatrix’s chest. Ginny and Professor McGonagall turned around to see who had cast the spell.
Hermione, still with her wand raised, was breathing heavily. She looked straight into Ginny’s eyes, full of love and comfort.
As Hermione lowered her wand, she and Ginny slowly walked towards each other.
“Why did you just do that?” Ginny asked quietly.
Even though the sound of the battlefield was deafening, Hermione could always hear Ginny’s voice.
“Because no one hurts my girl,” Hermione said, and smiled.
Before Ginny could respond, she felt Hermione’s lips crashing against hers.
This kiss was not like their first kiss. No. This kiss was full of passion, love, and most of all, loss. Both of them had missed each other's touch.
Hermione pulled away, caressed Ginny’s face, and whispered:
“I will keep you safe”.
Ginny began crying, and Hermione only hugged her harder. No one could disturb this moment, not even Lord Voldemort.
“I love you, ‘Mione,” Ginny whispered into Hermione’s neck.
“I love you too, Gin”.
Neither one of the girls could wait to start their lives together.
